Growing up in Greensboro, North Carolina, Marques was active in sports, the Boy Scouts and the Institutional Baptist Church. At Dudley High School he excelled academically and on the football field, and Marques earned a full scholarship to Howard University. Marques earned a B.A. degree in Human Development with a minor in Administration of Justice.
Marques is in his ninth year in the NFL, and his first with Tampa Bay.
Marques remains committed to excellence off the field, as well. In 2006, Marques attend a two-week Executive MBA Program at Harvard University in 2006. In February 2007, Marques embarked upon a goodwill mission to Afghanistan to watch Super Bowl XLI with troops from all over the world. He had the opportunity to meet commanders, Afghans, and special forces troops, and counts this among the most rewarding experiences of his lifetime.
Marques maintains a strong commitment to our youth. He personally developed and implented a life skills development program for incarcerated youth in Maryland and California, and will continue his efforts in Florida.
In his free time, Marques enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, public speaking and serving his community.
